Greeting from Pastor Raymond Spann and
Sovereign Grace Baptist Church.

We are located on Yorkville Road in
Columbus, Mississippi.

We meet on Sunday mornings at 10:l5 for
Bible study and 11:00 a.m. for the
preaching service.
We stand on Salvation by Grace through faith and that not of yourselves, it is the
gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast.  For we are his
workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before
ordained that we should walk in them.  Eph. 2   8,9 & 10.

Our desire is that we might be used of the Lord to present His truth of Salvation
for sinners.   That those who God brings under conviction of sin might be able to
hear the glorious good news of how that Christ has died for our sins according to
the scriptures , l Cor. 15   3  &  4 and that they might be brought by God’s Spirit
to see and believe that Christ’s sacrifice has made them free from their sins.

We also desire that our ministry might be used of the Lord to help every believer
who visits this site to come to have a better understanding of how God has saved
them.   How that they are saved through faith by Christ paying their sin debt
when He died on the cross, was buried and raised again the third day.

We desire for believers to come to understand that their salvation is not
something that they have done to get God to save them, but that God has given
his Son to die for their sins and that God has worked in them and brought them
out of darkness into the faith.

Therefore, our faith is not to believe and trust in anything that we have done.
Not in joining a church and being baptized, not in going forward at a service, not
in going through a prayer, but faith in what God says His Son has done for
sinners.

Therefore, we do not preach that Jesus will save you if you do certain things, but
we preach that Christ has satisfied God for the sin debt that we owed, when He
gave Himself for our sins.

We preach that Christ has obtained eternal redemption for those who believe on
Him and His sacrifice for their very own salvation.  Heb. 9 – 12 Neither by the
blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy
place having obtained eternal redemption for us.

Heb.  10 – 10 by which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of
Jesus Christ once for all.

Believers are sanctified, set apart from the penalty of their sin, and set apart to
walk in newness of life.

We will always be presenting, how that it is the finished work of Christ that
believers are to trust in, and not something that they have done themselves.
