God shall call.

We take our text from verse 6 of Romans l    The called of Jesus Christ.   We find this  theme taught throughout scripture
that all who believe on our Lord Jesus Christ for their very own salvation from sin are the called of Jesus Christ.

True believers have been called to repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.  He has called us to know and
believe the salvation that is in the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Of how that Christ hath died for
our sins according to the scriptures and that he was buried and raised again the third day according to the scriptures.

1st Corinthians  15  3 & 4,  He has called us to believe and know that Christ ‘s sacrifice of His laid down life and shed
blood is the only salvation that exist for sinners.  Christ’s death and shed blood is the forgiveness of sin for sinners unto all
those who are called unto faith in it as their very own salvation.   His call unto us is a call to faith and belief that we might
see that, as our salvation and be at peace, that our sins are forgiven in Christ dying for them.

God declares that Christ dying for our sins, make sinners that believe and rely upon it accepted in the Lord and also
declares that it is redemption and forgiveness of sins.

Eph. 1 –6  To the praise of the Glory of His grace wherein He  hath made us accepted in the Beloved.  Verse 7 Whom we
have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.

God hath called us to see that Christ in His sacrifice hath obtained eternal redemption for us.

Hebrews 9 –12  Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood, He entered  in once into the holy place,
having obtained eternal redemption for us.

God hath  called us to see by faith that Christ hath put away sin for those who believe.

Hebrews 9 –26  but now once in the end of this world hath He appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.

God hath called us by His grace that we might see by faith and be persuaded that the sacrifice of Christ  has put away our
sin and not something that we have to get him to do today, but what He did when He gave His life and His blood for us.
All must come to see that it is not our works, not our prayers, not our calling on the Lord, not joining a church and being
baptized or observing religious ceremonies ,  but God has called us to believe and trust and rely on the sacrifice of Christ as
having obtained eternal redemption for us.

In repentance toward God , we like Paul, see ourselves as the chief of sinners.

1st Timothy 1 –15  This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save
sinners of whom I am chief.

If salvation for sinners could be something we could do, then Christ could have stayed in Heaven and saved us.   But Christ
came into the world to put away our sin, by the sacrifice of Himself.  He offered Himself to God for the sin debt that we
owed.  God is satisfied with the offering that Christ made for sinners who believe on it.

God hath called us out of darkness.

1st Peter 2 – 9  But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people: that ye should show
forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

God, by His Spirit has called believers out of darkness into the marvelous light.  He has brought us to see what Jesus has
done for us.  He has brought us to see this  as our very own salvation .

To  these who believe, that is marvelous.  It is the most marvelous thing we shall ever come to believe and know as true.

Verse  19  which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which hath not obtained  mercy, but have
now obtained mercy.

Those who have been called into the light and this faith are now the people of God and now have obtained mercy.

Called to abstain from fleshly lust:

Verse 11  Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshy lust which was against the soul

This marvelous light that God hath called us into, in seeing Christ’s sacrifice as our salvation, gives us strength  to abstain
from fleshly lust which war against the soul.  Christ being raised again, gives us assurance that all this is true.

May we ever understand what a marvelous thing it is to be the Called of Jesus Christ,  Called to be Saints.
